Providing excellent Aquatic Physical Therapy to Snohomish County
Where movement meets meaning.
At Current Practice PT, we believe in connection — to water, to self, and to community. Founded by Dr. Kristin Ringstad, a board-certified physical therapist with advanced training in pediatric and medically complex care, Current Practice blends evidence-based rehabilitation with the restorative properties of water.
As an Inupiaq (Native Alaskan) clinician, Kristin brings cultural values of respect, balance, and resilience into every session, creating a space that’s inclusive, intentional, and welcoming for all.
Whether you're navigating chronic pain, recovering from surgery, or supporting a loved one with special needs, we’re here to help you move with more ease and confidence — one gentle current at a time.
What is Aquatic Physical Therapy?
We like to think of aquatic therapy as therapy with the water as your partner.
Aquatic Physical Therapy uses the unique properties of water — like buoyancy, resistance, and hydrostatic pressure — to support rehabilitation, relieve pain, and restore function. It’s especially helpful for individuals who:
Experience pain or difficulty with movement on land
Are recovering from injury, surgery, or neurological conditions
Live with chronic or complex conditions
Benefit from sensory regulation and gentle body awareness
Are challenged by balance or fear of falling on land
Water reduces the load on joints, cushions impact, and enables freer movement. Our sessions are led by a licensed physical therapist trained in aquatic techniques, ensuring safety, effectiveness, and compassionate care in every visit.
Aquatic PT isn’t just exercise in a pool — it’s a whole-body, whole-person approach to recovery and wellness.
